Assistant Principal

Welcome!

Mrs. Kalantar has proudly served at Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for 14 years, since the school first opened. Throughout her time on campus, she has held a wide range of roles, including Front Office Receptionist, Student Information Representative, 6th Grade Math Teacher, 6th Grade ELA Teacher, Middle School Journalism Teacher, Teacher Specialist, Dean of Instruction, and now Assistant Principal. While serving as a teacher, she also took on various leadership responsibilities such as Grade Level Team Lead, PLC Lead, Summer School Administrator, and Campus Testing Coordinator.

In her current leadership role, she focuses on high-quality instruction, curriculum support, student discipline, and teacher development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Downtown and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. In recognition of her commitment to excellence in education, she was named Teacher of the Year for the 2018–2019 school year.

Mrs. Kalantar believes that strong relationships and high expectations are the foundation of student success. She is dedicated to cultivating a school environment where students are challenged, teachers are empowered, and everyone is supported in their growth.
